RIA Confirmed as Industry Knowledge Partner for GoodGym’s “Movement for Change”
Running Industry Alliance (RIA) is delighted to be confirmed as the official Industry Knowledge Partner for GoodGym’s Movement for Change initiative, strengthening a shared commitment to using movement, community and collaboration as a force for positive social impact.
The partnership unites two organisations that believe running and physical activity can create meaningful change beyond participation alone – supporting healthier communities, social connection, inclusion and purpose-driven action across the UK.
As Industry Knowledge Partner, RIA will help amplify the Movement for Change initiative across its network of more than 350 members spanning brands, retailers, events, communities, charities, media, NGBs, services, suppliers, buying groups and distributors within the running industry.
A key element of this collaboration is the Future Leader Programme, with RIA supporting the amplification of GoodGym and partner recruitment and outreach through its network, helping to connect young people with opportunities to lead, engage and contribute within movement and community-based activity. The partnership will also create opportunities for shared learning, storytelling, insight and wider industry engagement around the power of movement-led social impact.
Running Industry Alliance Co-Founder and CEO, Rebecca Richardson, said:
“Running Industry Alliance is delighted to be confirmed as Industry Knowledge Partner for GoodGym’s Movement for Change initiative. We believe the future of our industry involves not only growth, innovation and participation, but also purpose and impact. Movement for Change represents the very best of what movement can do when it connects people, communities and wellbeing together. A key part of this partnership is the Future Leader Programme. We are proud to support the amplification of recruitment and outreach through our network, which helps open opportunities for the next generation while encouraging collaboration, connection and positive action across the sector.”
GoodGym Founder and CEO, Ivo Gormley OBE, added:
“Movement for Change is about demonstrating how physical activity can become a catalyst for stronger communities and meaningful social impact. Partnering with Running Industry Alliance allows us to connect more deeply with the wider industry and showcase how organisations across running can work together to create positive change. RIA’s reach, insight and collaborative approach make them an ideal Industry Knowledge Partner, and we’re excited about what we can achieve together, alongside our fellow RIA Members.”
The partnership forms part of RIA’s continued commitment to supporting member initiatives that advance the running industry through collaboration, education, innovation and community impact – creating opportunities for the next generation and strengthening intergenerational connection across the sector.
Movement for Change includes the Future Leader programme which opens for applications this week. Future Leader is identifying and training the next generation of community leaders and is open to anyone aged 18-25 in areas in which GoodGym operates.
